GMT Home Designs is proud to announce recognition with a Silver Award in the 2017 NARI "Contractor of the Year" awards. This award is in the category of Residential Kitchen, project size $101,000-$150,000.
EM NARI, the Eastern Massachusetts National Association of the Remodeling Industry, bases judging on criteria including:
- how well the project met the client’s needs and enhanced the functionality and aesthetics of the space,
- innovative uses of materials and methods,
- the ability to overcome obstacles creatively,
- and overall craftsmanship.
Each entry is judged by a panel of eight independent experts.
For this project, the Sudbury homeowner—and chef—was more than ready to update the previously dark and crowded kitchen.
We created a more unified and usable space featuring a shortened 4cm Statuarietto marble island and a beautiful large sunlit window above a Kallista Multiere sink. Generous custom cabinetry provides space to organize the owner's pots and pans, and the clean-up station includes 2 dishwashers, one full size and one with two drawers. The marble backsplash creates a consistent look with the island.
Gorgeous honed grey mist granite perimeter countertops add functional space and a nice visual contrast, as do the exposed stainless steel appliances.
The overall look is modern, spacious, and well lit, with pendant and task lighting complementing natural light from the new windows.
Now the chef has convenient storage and workspaces, with easy access to everything needed to make amazing meals while making the kitchen a part of the flow of the home.
"The kitchen is a central point in this homeowner's life, and we're proud that this award recognizes a space that truly meets our client's needs," said Glenn Travis, owner of GMT Home Designs.
