WIT Co-op Education Program

Wentworth Institute of Technology recenty honored GMT Home Designs with a certificate of appreciation for participating in the WIT Co-op Education program. Wentworth carries a lot of resonance for GMT Home Designs, as a graduate, owner Glenn Travis has seen first hand the benefit of the co-op program at Wentworth, and as a result wanted to give back.

In order to graduate, WIT students must participate in at least two four-month co-op semesters – spring of their junior year and fall of their senior year. GMT is helping these students get their feet in the door working on real world projects with customers and experienced designers and architects. “We have been hiring Wentworth co-ops for the last 5 years,” said Travis. “Wentworth produces impressive young engineering minds that ultimately add huge value for our customers and our company. ” adds Travis. “We want to provide them with a one-of-a-kind working experience that keeps them engaged and involved. We believe it benefits the students to get this kind of exposure to the work they might eventually decide to pursue.”

Wentworth’s co-op program is designed to complement traditional classroom learning with a chance for students to build important skills and professional connections.
